One address into your assistant's settings

Your assistant cannot do this part for you: no app lets a conversation change its own settings. You do it once and never come back.

Transport: streamable HTTP. Leave every authentication field empty. There is nothing to sign up for, no email to give and no key to fetch first.

Pick your app

The menu names are the ones in today's versions. These apps move them, so the last section says what to do when they no longer match.

Claude (web or desktop)

Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. In the desktop app the same button is under Customize, beside the + next to Connectors.

Name it Dictena, paste the address above, leave every authentication field empty, save.

Two places people get stuck. On the free plan Claude allows exactly one custom connector, so remove the other one first if you have one. And Claude connects from Anthropic's servers rather than from your laptop, so your VPN and firewall are not involved.

ChatGPT

There is a step before it: turn on developer mode. Settings, then Security and login, then Developer mode. OpenAI has moved that toggle more than once, so if it is not there look under Settings, Connectors, Advanced.

Then Settings, Connectors, Create. Name it Dictena, paste the address above, authentication none.

Not on the free plan. Custom connectors need Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education. If you would rather not pay to try us, Claude's free plan does allow one.

Cursor

Cursor takes an install link, which opens Cursor with the server already filled in.

Add Dictena to Cursor

Zed, VS Code, Goose, Windsurf, Codex and the rest

Zed: Settings, AI, MCP Servers, Add Server, Add Remote Server.

VS Code: command palette, MCP: Add Server, the HTTP option. It writes .vscode/mcp.json for you.

Goose: goose configure, then Add Extension, then Remote Extension (Streaming HTTP).

Windsurf and anything else with a JSON config: an mcpServers entry named dictena, type http, the address above.

Codex: TOML rather than JSON: [mcp_servers.dictena] with a url field.

Choose the remote or HTTP option everywhere, never a local or stdio one: Dictena is a hosted server, not a package to install.

Go back to your chat and write one line.

Dictena is connected. Connect and tell me what is in there.

What happens

You are connected at once

Your assistant calls the connect tool. It takes no fields at all: no email, no code, no key. The rest of the tools appear after it, and you can start working.

What you should see

A number, not an apology

Ask how many rulings and acts Dictena holds. If it says it has no such tool, the connector did not save.

Next time

The key is optional

connect also returns a key. It only matters if you want the next conversation to start already connected. If there is nowhere to put it, just connect again.

The same table as the front page, and the same figures: they are read from the corpus when you open the page.
